Where is the estate of l'Ile aux Hérons ?

Île aux Hérons is a charming holiday cottage located in the Yonne department of Burgundy, set in a peaceful, green environment. Nestled by the water, it offers the perfect setting for a nature weekend, a family holiday, or a stay with friends, just 1.5 hours south of Paris, 30 minutes from Auxerre, and 20 minutes from Chablis.

How many guests can the cottage accommodate?

The cottage can accommodate up to 15 guests in its full configuration. It is particularly well suited for family gatherings, birthday celebrations, extended family reunions, get-togethers with friends, or group stays such as association retreats.

Can only part of the cottage be rented?

Yes. Île aux Hérons now offers a "half-house" option, ideal for couples, families, or small groups of 4/5 guests.

This option allows guests to enjoy the estate and its facilities while benefiting from a more suitable rate for smaller groups.

Are there any extra charges on top of the base price?

  • Linen rental (bed linen, towels, and kitchen linen) is mandatory to ensure the comfort of all our guests. Please note that you may wish to bring an extra towel if you plan to swim in the river, for hygiene reasons.
  • The tourist tax (additional charge) is calculated based on your group size and must be paid on site in addition to your accommodation. Your host will collect it and transfer it to the relevant government authorities.
  • Final cleaning is carried out by our team for the comfort of all guests and is a mandatory fee payable in addition to the rental.

Is the cottage suitable for families with children

Yes. The estate regularly welcomes families with children of all ages. The outdoor spaces, the garden, the surrounding nature, and the many activities available in the Yonne region make it an ideal destination for family holidays.

The swimming pool is secured with a lockable enclosure. The accommodation is also equipped for young children, including a high chair, a baby cot, and a changing table.

Does the property include outdoor spaces?

Yes. Guests enjoy extensive outdoor spaces, ideal for relaxing, dining al fresco, playing games, and sharing convivial moments.

The cottage is usually open from March to November.

Can we book for just a few nights?

Yes, short stays are possible, with a minimum stay of 2 nights.

What is the best time to visit the Yonne?

The Yonne can be visited year-round. Spring and summer are ideal for enjoying outdoor activities and relaxing in nature, while autumn and winter appeal to those who appreciate peaceful surroundings, gastronomy, and cosy getaways.

What additional services does the cottage offer ?

Île aux Hérons is home to its own craft microbrewery, offering guests a unique and authentic experience at the heart of their stay:

In addition, we are happy to suggest and arrange contact with local caterers for your meals.

Do you need to stay at the cottage to visit the brewery?

No. Tours, tastings, and training sessions are available independently of a stay at the cottage. In this case, it is recommended to contact the brewery directly.
